Frequently Asked Questions

The Cornerstone? What is it and why is it important to me?

A cornerstone is the essential and indispensable foundation on which something is created and built.

We are each uniquely created individuals. Of the nearly 8 billion people on Earth, not a single one of us is just like another person. Everyone has a unique purpose –– YES, even you! –– and that purpose is the CORNERSTONE of your life. When we build our lives with our unique purpose as the foundation, like a building built on a solid cornerstone, everything added to it will come into alignment. Your cornerstone is important to you, because it can make the difference between merely existing in the life you have now and thriving in the life you’ve always dreamed of!

What is The Cornerstone Concept™?

The Cornerstone Concept is a results-based coaching approach that guides people toward more PURPOSEFUL living by equipping them with skills and tools to consistently produce empowering results in their life.

In my coaching I use both structured and custom-tailored curriculum, science-based mindfulness and somatic techniques, and intuitive guidance to help people identify their unique life purpose and use it as the CORNERSTONE on which they can build a life for themselves that produces empowering results rooted in personal satisfaction and joy.

Who do you work with and how do I know that The Cornerstone Concept™ is right for me?

I absolutely love working with people who are tired of teetering between the “good life” and secret disappointment. Those people whose friends, families, colleagues, and even strangers look to for inspiration and encouragement, but deep down they don’t yet see or feel the light inside of them that everyone else seems to be drawn to. They are constantly working hard in their homes, families, and careers, yet can’t seem to find the peace, joy, and satisfaction that comes with living “the good life.”

The people that I most often work with are educators, entrepreneurs, parents, partners, and others who spend most of their time working in services to others but when it comes to caring for and serving themselves, they feel like they don’t have the time or don’t know where to start. Did you know that the better you care for yourself, the higher quality of care you can give to your home, work, family, and community?

I have a heart for coaching women who suffer from imposter syndrome. They are brilliant, accomplished, and all around amazing individuals who struggle to see the value in their gifts. Despite accolades, accomplishments, and opportunities surrounding them, they constantly second guess if they really have what it takes to step into that position -– usually crippled by fear of failure or the plague of perfectionism.

My coaching clients often come to me because they feel a lack of direction in their lives. They feel like they know what they want and need to do, and where they want to be, but don’t know the first step to take. Oftentimes, they question if they have what it takes to get, or even deserve the life that they really want.

Even though all of my clients have different needs and backgrounds, they all have one thing in common: they are ready to burst out of their comfort zone and more boldly live ways that leave them feeling empowered. They are tired of playing small, they are tired of second guessing themselves, they are fed up with feeling like they are just floating through life, and ready to take control! They are ready to have more purpose, clarity, and balance in their lives, and step out on faith into the life that they often dream about ––and deserve –– to live!

How are you different from a therapist or a counselor?

In short, therapists and coaches work in two different time frames. The work of therapy typically focuses on the past and helps clients recover from and manage trauma and mental illness. As a coach, I only work in the present and future. I firmly believe that no matter what happened in your past, today and tomorrow can look completely different if you allow it to!

Now don’t get me wrong, I am a strong proponent of therapy and the work that I do as a coach can really compliment the work someone is doing with their therapist. However, I am not a therapist and this coaching program doesn’t replace therapy, nor does it prevent, cure, or treat mental disorders, illnesses or other diseases.

Yes, I have a doctorate, but no, I’m not a medical doctor.

For this coaching program, I use my training in education, sociology, human somatics, and mindfulness, as well as cognitive tools and behavior modification techniques, to help you empower you to do things in your present life that will have a great impact on your future.

My clients are fully responsible for their physical, mental, and emotional well being throughout the coaching program. All choices and decisions made by clients are theirs alone. I want every single individual to be well and do what is best for their own health and wellbeing. If you are unsure if coaching, therapy, both, or neither are right for you, let’s talk and we can see if this coaching program will meet your needs.

What is expected from me?

The experience you get out of this program is largely determined by what you put into it. I only work with people who are not only ready to experience more empowering outcomes from their life, but are committed to doing work to get those results. This means that in order for me to most effectively serve as your coach, you must communicate honestly, be open to feedback and assistance, and invest the time and energy to fully participate in the program to achieve the expected results (see below). If you are not fully committed to investing time, energy, and effort into yourself through this journey, then I am probably not the coach for you. If you are looking for someone who will just feed you answers and not challenge you to grow into your greatest potential, then I’m probably still not the right one. But if you are ready, willing, and able to trust yourself, and trust me as your coach to guide you through this process, then I’m super excited to get to work with you!

Does The Cornerstone Concept™ really work?

YES IT DOES! (Disclaimer: It works if you invest in the process. See above.) You can achieve the results you want if you put the work and action in, and I’ll be there as a guide the entire way!

I use this proven system in my life every single day. The tools that I will be sharing with you literally changed my life in ways that I never imagined. Because I know how powerful this process can be, I’ve invested time, finances, and energy to transform what I’ve learned through experience, into a skillset that allows me to coach you through this program.

With that said, I make no promises or guarantees about the results that you achieve, nor am I responsible for your outcomes. Coaching is subjective, and like I’ve said before you must do the work to see the results. But, if and when you put in the work, I’m confident you won’t finish the program the same way you started (for the better)!

What results can I expect?

The Cornerstone Concept™ Coaching Program is a process that guides people to learn how to consistently produce results, personal well being, and make decisions in life that are rooted in purpose so they can build a life that they are empowered by! Many of my clients find more balance in their personal and professional lives, overcome imposter syndrome, strengthen their sense of mindfulness, and become better at prioritizing their own needs and desires (without the guilt that often comes with it). Additionally, my clients learn how to be more focused, accountable, and accomplished with satisfaction when they identify their CORNERSTONE and build the rest of their lives solidly on it!

As a Client you, you will learn how to:

  • Identify your unique life purpose –– your CORNERSTONE

  • Make choices that are in alignment with your personal values

  • Increase your wellbeing

  • Make decisions with greater intention and confidence

  • Create habits for being more accountable to yourself and your desired outcomes

  • Become more attuned with your purpose and how to realign when off course

  • Develop strategies that help improve time management and productivity

  • Make more intentional choices to move from where you are to where you want to be.

  • Make sustainable progress in your life that you can benefit you after program completion

Why do you expect such a big investment for this coaching program?

Building and living a life that you are empowered by means understanding the value of investing in yourself.

The Cornerstone Concept is a 1:1, private, and integrative coaching program that works to meet your specific needs. You will receive full and undivided attention from a highly qualified, caring, and certified coach who is a lifelong learner. To prepare myself to serve as your coach, I have invested in the following professional training and skills development:

  • 125+ hours training toward Professional Coach Certification, in accordance with the International Coaching Federation

  • Ph.D. Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership (with a focus in Sociology, AKA the study of society).

  • Professional training in mindfulness and Human Somatics

  • 5+ as university instructor and guidance counselor

  • 10+ years providing professional and academic coaching to adults and youth.

Additionally, I participate in my own continuous personal and professional development to strengthen my practice and ability to serve my clients with high quality and integrity.

Identifying your Cornerstone and building your empowered life on purpose is much greater than a financial, time, and energetic investment. It is the opportunity to fundamentally shift the way you believe in yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and experience life personally, professionally, and in every way in between. I want to help you believe and achieve bigger than you ever have before, and your full commitment is needed for us to accomplish this together.

My question for you is this: What is worth for you to be able to more quickly and consistently experience the most important things in your life and be empowered by the outcomes you experience? How would it change your life right now? How would it feel to look back and say, “wow, I’m really living the life I’ve always wanted?” What would it do for you? How would it improve the way you feel about your work? Your time at home? Your experiences with loved ones?

Now my next question is, what would be the cost of you continuing to not fully live in your purpose and and being empowered by your life? What would it cost you for your life to stay the same? What would it do to you to look back 10 or 20 years from now and have regret about how you’ve spent your time on earth? When you know if you would have just believed a little bit bigger, and invested in yourself a little bit more, that you could’ve been in an entirely different place?

The tools, skills, and insight that you will gain in this coaching program will be something you will have forever and can be applied to every part of your life. The more you are able to use these tools and skills throughout your life, the more value you will receive from your investment.

If you are able to invest your time, finances, energy, and labor in so many other things, but your personal well-being feels like a hesitant splurge, then I am not the coach for you. However if you are ready, and deem yourself worthy to invest in your greatest asset –– your own wellbeing–– then let’s talk about how I can help ] you be more purposeful, intentional, and empowered in your living.

I know you are Christian, do I have to be a Christian to work with you?

Absolutely not! As a Christian, my only “agenda” is to treat all of my clients with the love of Christ, which means that ALL are welcome. No matter what your religious or spiritual beliefs are, or how you identify in other areas of your life, I believe that we are all placed on this earth for you a unique purpose and my role as your coach is to help you identify your purpose and live most authentically!
